Finnish fresh produce wholesale company Vegepörssi has entered into an agreement to acquire Greenfood Export Iberica SLU (Greenfood Iberica) from the Greenfood Group. The acquisition supports Vegepörssi’s strategic objective of growth in the European market.

Greenfood Iberica is a full service provider for the distribution of fresh fruit and vegetables from Spain to UK and Northern Europe. The company’s revenue amounted to EUR 39 million in 2025.

According to Vegepörssi CEO Peter Söderlund, Greenfood Iberica’s operations will continue unchanged under the new ownership, with the current team remaining in place.

“Greenfood Iberica is strongly committed to quality and freshness, as well as supporting social and environmental initiatives together with its suppliers. This aligns perfectly with Vegepörssi’s strategy. We will continue Greenfood Iberica’s existing business operations and see substantial growth opportunities in European markets.”

The acquisition will provide Vegepörssi’s customers with access to an even broader selection of premium-quality fresh produce. As a result of the transaction, Vegepörssi will have full control of the fresh produce supply chain, from farm to retailer or restaurant.

“We know when products have been harvested, when they were packed onto a truck at the farm, when transportation began, and what temperature conditions were maintained throughout the journey. We can also provide this information transparently to our customers, which is highly significant from the perspective of measuring environmental and climate impacts”, says Söderlund.
